Originally from Sharon, Connecticut, Jake Longstreth now lives and works as an emerging artist in the Bay Area. He attained his MFA from the California College of Fine Arts in San Francisco. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions over the past few years, and in 2004 was awarded a much-coveted spot in the prestigious art publication, New American Paintings, (M.F.A. Competition). Longstreth’s work typically contains the ubiquitous urban and suburban corporate landscapes that surround us. His paintings deal with the loss of individuality of place in our carbon-copy, logo-laden society.
